Taking English literature at A level is as close to learning English as a SUBJECT as one can be haha... Yeah lor people from non English speaking household were always at disadvantage with the emphasis on English but no choice it is an important subject and we must put in the extra effort to pull through...

Just did a search and found some links here

    http://cj.my/post/79582/home-schools-gaining-popularity-in-johor-bahru/
    http://homeschoolmalaysia.wordpress.com/2011/04/07/homeschool-centres/
    http://homeschoolhomefrontier.com/resources/homeschool-and-igcse
    http://forum.ibaby.my/simple/index.php?t10472.html

But it should be noted that homeschool centres are not exactly homeschooling in the literal sense of the word. It's more like private schools.

This might be of interest to some!

Seri Alam Properties Sdn Bhd (SAP) embark on a partnership with Pegasus Education Group (Malaysia) (PEG) to build the prestigious KinderWorld International School in Bandar Seri Alam.

The school will be a state-of-the-art-institution with modern facilities and technology that offers a Singapore international curriculum combining the best of Eastern values with an International outlook on education. The curriculum will cover kindergarten up to University Foundation Program culminating in International Examinations such as the IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) and ACT (American College Test) - GAC (Global Assessment Certificate). The total cost of the whole development is estimated at RM 66 million.

Sri Omega is another school i visited. Apparently this school is quite famous among the local JB ppl, most of them recommend this school not sure for what reason.

    Some info for you all

They provide school bus services to where i stay, which is pretty far away from school 30km +.. MYR200 per month

School fees is fixed when enrolling...you do not need to worry about them increasing the school fees. Pri 1-6 is at a fixed rate through out. Sec 1-3 another rate then Sec 4-5 is another rate...."i think"

    nice new school campus

    35 students per class

Only offer curriculum from P1-6, S1-5.

They also offer 2 syllabus one is International School and the other is Local School.

    Have Chinese as 2nd Language

    Cheers

Paramount to spend RM40m on smart school in Nusajaya

26 March 2008, By Yantoultra Ngui Yichen, The Edge Daily

    Back

PETALING JAYA: Paramount Corporation Bhd plans to spend some RM40 million on capital expenditure (capex) to build a Sri KDU smart school at East Ledang in Nusajaya.

Group managing director and chief executive Datuk Teo Chiang Quan said the construction of the private school would start in October and the school would open its doors by 2011.

“This is in line with Paramount’s philosophy to provide affordable quality education to everyone,” he said after Paramount’s unit Janahasil Sdn Bhd inked a sale and purchase agreement with UEM Land Sdn Bhd to buy a four-hectare land in Nusajaya for RM13 million for the smart school.

Teo said Paramount, with Kolej Damansara Utama (KDU) as its flagship in the education sector, had the option to buy another 6ha at East Ledang for future development.

Paramount, which has campuses in Kuala Lumpur and Penang, is focusing on the southern region to tap the growing population of Nusajaya.

Meanwhile, UEM Land’s managing director Wan Abdullah Wan Ibrahim said: “We are delighted that Paramount has chosen to site its school at Nusajaya. This is in line with our plans to develop an integrated community in Nusajaya where all can work, live and play here.”

He said the setting up of a private school in Nusajaya together with other projects by world-class developers like Limitless LLC, which is co-developing Puteri Harbour Residential North, was yet another testimony of the tangible developments at Nusajaya.

Wan Abdullah said the first phase of its East Ledang property project, which comprises 140 units of terrace and semi-detached houses with a gross development value (GDV) of RM97 million, was expected to be fully sold by July.

“We have already sold 50%, which is beyond our forecast and now we expect to launch the second phase by the fourth quarter of this year,” he said.

My daughter has just joined Grade 7 (equivalent to Sec 1) at a local international school. It is an IB school so she will work towards an IB diploma. Universities the world over, including Singapore, recognise IB diplomas as an entry qualification so I am not too worried about it. I'm just keeping myself worried to making sure my daughter takes full advantage of the opportunities that she has in front of her :)

Sunway International school is coming to Iskandar. Extremely impressive with the quality of teachers they employed and the fees is extremely reasonable compare to Marlborough College.

Not necessary. If it's a international school then the school will sort the foreign pupil visa.
