Tropicana may be strong but stronger companies have fallen. Besides, even if they are strong enough to complete building everything, how are you going to re-sell your unit when there are 5 empty brand new blocks next to you?

I have visited this project a few times and I like the layout and the finishes but rational minds but prevail. Must remember your objective of buying. If buying for investment, must see if can re-sell or not. if buying for massage mei meis, then must see if massage parlours will open there or not. if buying to party with SYTs, then must see if the place is atas enough.

the way I see it, the only reason to buy is for self stay cos I am sure with 5 empty blocks, there will be a lot of peace and quiet.

u mean they haven't apply for advertising permit? They have preview last Dec la and sold so some bankers (on some FB page i found months ago).
no wonder no much push, then again the asking price is also very high for "unblocked" (blocked by brunsfield) views.

will give this project a miss, since the new name is also horrrible....... Bora(T) residensces remind me of a certain hairy comedian film lol

tropicana (formerly dijaya) founder is brother of tan sri dato vincent tan (berjaya founder). you think project will abandon.
as nottiboy noted, it CAN happen. but is it "likely"?. nope.
btw i not vested. too ex and i thnk CG screwed up the market here (in the short term) by inundating the area with 9000 units.
but i don't think bora will be abandoned. it may take longer to complete though
fyi, tropicana casa in pj, dijaya completd 4 blocks first. then the last block they delay for 7 years before completing it.
th 4 blocks people were staying for 7 years already before the last block E was completed. this was, i heard, due to dijaya unhappy with contractor execution.
i am quite familiar with the tropicana pj area. it's a nice develpment with golf course.

    A Dazzling Waterfront City

    The Star , 19 September 2013

A PREMIER freehold waterfront integrated lifestyle development, Tropicana Danga Bay is an ambitious and exciting development transforming the 182ha Danga Bay into a dazzling waterfront city within the burgeoning Iskandar Malaysia region in Johor.

This RM8.3bil project spans 15ha and offers a holistic blend of upscale lifestyle properties, exclusive office and commercial blocks and a destination shopping mall with a proposed luxurious hotel and convention centre.

With a development period of eight to 10 years, Tropicana Danga Bay is poised to become a fully integrated community enhanced by a network of well-shaded sky-bridges and links to spur walking for healthy living.

High-end serviced residences with integrated features

Tropicana Danga Bay houses a variety of exclusive international standard high-end residenrial developments, enveloped in lush greenery.

This holistic lifestyle is completed by placing public amenities and facilities like retail and services in close proximity, giving residents a serene living environment without compromising on convenience.

    Tropez Residences

Tropez Residences, a luxurious bayfront serviced apartment, has functional interiors and over 20 different indoor and outdoor facilities.

Retail components are located underneath, while link bridges allow residents to easily access other precincts.

This holistic design resulted in overwhelming response, especially from foreign investors.

This enthusiasm has spurred the developer to launch the next phase of high-end residences.

    Bora Residences

Bora Residences is an enhanced residential development displaying good urban planning with a dash of style, culminating in a superb living environment where you can experience the true meaning of life.

The development hosts 3.2ha of recreational space with integrated facilities and water features amidst lush greenery, promoting a healthy and wholesome lifestyle.

The residences come in a variety of designs such as duplex, dual-key concept units as well as penthouses, and some with waterfront views, too.

Its close proximity to commercial and business points of interest makes this a modem and sophisticated take on city life.

    Upcoming destination shopping mall

Integrated into the Bora Residences is an exciting world-class destination shopping centre poised to be the biggest mall in Johor. Built on a scale never seen before in the South, the mall has one million sq ft of lettable retail space and was designed in partnership with Jerde, a visionary architecture and urban planning firm based in Los Angeles.

Features include sidewalk cafes, chill-out stations, a boardwalk, canal gardens and an event plaza.

A lifestyle retail centre, convention centre as well as a luxurious hotel will stand alongside this shopping mall, completing the ultimate master plan of Tropicana Danga Bay.

Urban convenience in one unbeatable address

As the adage goes, property is all about location, location, and location.

Tropicana Danga Bay sits on prime land within Iskandar Malaysia, a government-fuelled initiarive to transform Johor into a vision city of the South, capitalising on its current economic synergies with Singapore.

Its well-connected land, sea and air routes, and an upcoming public transportation network will make all connectivity within easy reach.

This promising location has drawn an exciting influx of foreign and high-level investments interests to Tropicana Danga Bay.

Within Zone A of Iskandar Malaysia, better known as the JB city centre, Tropicana Danga Bay is only 10 minutes drive to the Johor-Singapore Causeway link, and is also easily connected to Nusajaya. Zone B of Iskandar Malaysia via the new coastal highway, which houses Legoland, Hello Kitty Town, Pinewood Studio, EduCity, Afiat Healthpark and the second Tuas-Singapore link.

    A cooperative endeavour of excellence

Tropicana Danga Bay is jointly developed by Tropicana Corporation Berhad, formerly known as Dijaya Corporation Berhad, and Iskandar Waterfront Sdn Bhd. Tropicana Corporation Berhad has an entrenched reputation of breaking new grounds in property developments.

It is the creator of the award-winning Tropicana Golf & Country Resort, Tropicana Grande and various worid-class residential and commercial properties all over Malaysia.

Iskandar Waterfront is a government-linked company that is incorporated to transform the 1.618ha of prime waterfront land in JB city centre, Flagship Zone A of Iskandar Malaysia, into a metropolitan.

Just got a e-mailer. Prices from RM849psf and lots of free legal fees. But no more DIBS. I think at this price it is worth considering. I remember that they were selling around RM1k psf at launch and no freebies. but then again there was DIBS.

No vested interest. just spreading the news.
